We currently have 26 Bravery Boxes throughout the Twin Cities located in several different hospitals and clinics. Each location is unique and serves its patients in different and special ways. Because of support from people like you, we have the means to work with each location to determine their needs and provide what works best for the patients there. Currently our boxes can be found within the Children’s Minnesota Hospital and Clinic System, the University of MN Masonic Children’s Hospital Discovery Clinic, and Park Nicollet Urgent Care locations. Read below for more information on how we serve each location.

Minneapolis Campus, St. Paul Campus, and other Clinic Locations

Children’s Hospital, Minneapolis Campus

Cardiovascular Care Center/Cardiovascular ICU: There are 4 bravery boxes dedicated to this unit on the 4th floor. This unit is near and dear to our hearts as Andrew spent a lot of time being cared for here. (since 2019)

Prep and Recovery 4 (PAR4): We have 1 box dedicated to this area where children await cardiac procedures. This is where IV’s are placed and children are prepared for big surgeries as well as out-patient procedures that require sedation. (since 2019)

Pediatric ICU: We have 2 boxes for the PICU on the 5th floor. Patients here receive care for a wide range of serious illnesses and conditions and we are proud to help them along in their health journey. (since 2019)

Procedural and Surgical Services: We have 2 boxes for use in this area where children are treated for general outpatient or short term procedures. Our bravery boxes provide a way to reward these children for enduring some pretty uncomfortable tests and treatments that range from allergy and food tolerance testing to other surgical procedures. (since 2020)

Emergency Department: Our bravery box looks a little different in the ED because the needs of this area are different than the rest of the hospital. Infants and vey young children are more common here and our bravery boxes contain more infant toys to be used as a soothing mechanism. When parents arrive at the ER with their child, they often don’t have time to grab those toys and comfort items, so we are honored to provide those here for families most in need. Our boxes are also smaller clear bins to help the staff better utilize them in the space they have. (since 2020)

CHILDREN’s HOSPITALs and CLINICS LOCATIONS

Minnetonka Surgery and Specialty Center: We have 2 boxes serving the patients in this location. Patients here generally have an outpatient procedure than needs to be done. Even though this location is not in the hospital, patients here still experience the same pre and post-surgical steps that can be scary to face. (since 2024)

Minnetonka Rehabilitation Clinic: We have one bravery box that serves children receiving physical and occupational therapy for a variety of reasons. These children often have many appointments and we love to celebrate their milestones with them! (since 2024)

Abbott Northwestern West Health Emergency Room: The ER at this Plymouth location is staffed with a pediatric doctor and Child Life specialist from Children’s MN. We are providing small bravery boxes similar to those in the Minneapolis Emergency Room to help the families who seek care here. (since 2021)

Chaska 212 Medical Center: A pediatric Emergency Department staffed by Children’s MN medical professionals sees children regularly and is the newest location for our bravery boxes. (since 2026)

Children’s Minnesota St. Paul Campus

Pediatric ICU: We are proud to serve the PICU in the St. Paul campus of Children’s MN. We have 2 bravery boxes that we stock here to help children in need. (since 2022)

Emergency Department: The emergency department uses the bravery boxes to ease and sooth children requiring urgent and emergency care. (since 2025)

Discovery Clinic

M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital

Discovery Clinic: We have 2 bravery boxes used in this area of the hospital. Children seen at this clinic receive a wide range of specialty care including cardiovascular care, neurological care, and many other conditions. (since 2020)

Ridges Hospital, Burnsville: We provide 1 bravery box to this clinic to use with pediatric patients. (since 2021)

Urgent Care

Plymouth and Chanhassen

Urgent Care Centers: These locations serve pediatric patients who come into the urgent care center and are in need of a distraction or calming tool so that staff can assess and triage. Staff here are trained to use the bravery box for those patients that truly need a little extra reward for being brave! (since 2024)
